Benoît Lachambre is a dance choreographer, performer, improviser, director and teacher. For over 30 years, he has been researching, performing and sharing his signature experimental techniques and approaches in dance, drawing from somatic practices.
His Montreal-based company Par B.L.eux creates works in a spirit of openness and collaboration, while encouraging inter-disciplinary relationships in dance. Over the past 15 years, Benoît has taught over 150 workshops all over the world.
I danced with Benoît 10 years ago in Seattle at the SFDI dance festival, and then met him again in Berlin in 2019, where Par B.L.eux performed "Fluid Grounds" at the “Tanz im August” international dance festival. We sat down at Ponderosa in Stolzenhagen for a conversation about his work.
