Chris Jordan
Chris Jordan is a photographic artist, filmmaker, cultural activist, and art educator. He is best known for artworks that faced the darkness of consumer mass-culture. Chris' works are exhibited and published worldwide. He is also a sought-after public speaker.
At the beginning of 2020, Chris was on an assignment in Chile to make a documentary film about mining, when the pandemic began. He then lived for almost 2 years at a remote lake in Patagonia, Lago Llanquihue, which he photographed and deeply connected to. "Ecstatic Desolation” is the first in a new set of photographic projects that explore directly the subtle beauty of the living world.
I met Chris through a mutual friend in Seattle where we both used to live. The interview was recorded in August 2021 via Zoom from Lago Llanquihue.
