Richard Restoule
Richard is an Ojibwe, he grew up on the Dokis First Nations Reserve in Ontario, Canada. After leaving home at the age of 17, Richard was a flight attendant, a photographer, and an actor. Today he lives near Everett, WA, USA. He is a cultural ambassador, a healer, a musician and a teacher.
In 1996, Richard helped me with an East German Indian Movie festival I organized in Seattle. He has been a good friend and mentor ever since, was best man at my Mum's wedding, and in 2001 took me on a journey back to the reserve to celebrate their first Pow Wow in 100 years.
In Fall of 2016, Richard asked me to record him telling his life story.
